TEAM

Magano Akuaake
Founder and Creative Director
Dr Akuaake is an Emergency Medicine Physician with a fervent commitment to education, resuscitation, and evidence-based medicine, particularly in resource-limited settings. Born in the scenic town of Harare, Zimbabwe, and raised in Namibia, her journey in medicine has been deeply influenced by her diverse cultural background.
She completed her residency in Cape Town, South Africa, where she gained invaluable experience across various emergency centers, trauma units, intensive care units, and in prehospital care, including aeromedical evacuation. Currently, she practices emergency medicine in the breathtaking landscapes of Namibia.
Driven by her vision for accessible healthcare, she recently launched Uukolele, a mobile application designed to empower patients to manage their health records effortlessly on their smartphones. The app also facilitates easy access to healthcare services at the touch of a button, bridging the gap between patients and providers.
When she's not at work, this dynamic physician enjoys traveling, sharing the message of the gospel and the Love of God, and engaging in outdoor adventures. Recently, she earned her motorcycle license and looks forward to exploring the country on two wheels.
Her passion project, an upcoming podcast titled "Diary of an African Emergency Medicine Doctor," serves as a platform to share her experiences and insights, keeping her grounded and connected to the broader community.
